Upcoming Coursera course: Principles of Reactive Programming

Just a quick note to say that a new Coursera course begins on 4th Nov 2013 that looks very interesting indeed titled ‘Principles of Reactive Programming‘ taught by Martin Odersky, Erik Meijer and Roland Kuhn. It is intended as a follow on course from its precursor course ‘Functional Programming Principles in Scala‘ also taught by Martin Odersky that concludes right when the new one starts. To hear the instructors give an introduction to the new course watch this video.

  1. Hi Dhruba,

I see you are totally caught by Scala – I hardly worked with it, but I hear much good things about it.

    Have you tried ScalaCL? https://code.google.com/p/scalacl/
Its author is in London and is very enthusiastic about the combination.

    Regards,
    Vincent

    • Hi Vincent,

Yes I have the scala bug but it’s not yet another passing phase. I have grand plans. :) Scala is a good tool for learning functional programming as well as expressing oneself literally and naturally.

I have not seen scalacl. Sadly I made the decision to move on from native programming. Life’s too short and one cannot specialise and do well in multiple disparate domains – well at least I cannot. I’ll take a look though.

      Thanks.
